Automotive Mechanic | Woodside, SA
$70,000-$80,000 base salary | Full-time | On-site | New workshop
Help build something from the ground up
Our client is a successful, family-owned automotive business opening a new workshop in Woodside. With strong local community support already behind the new site, they are looking for a qualified Automotive Mechanic who wants to do quality work, be trusted to get on with the job and become part of a genuinely people-focused team.
This is not a role where you will be micromanaged, and it is not a role where you are expected to do everyone else’s job. You will have a clear daily job list, the tools and support to do it well, and a Store Manager who needs a capable mechanic who can work independently and communicate when something needs to be escalated.
What you will be doing
· General and logbook servicing.
· Mechanical repairs including brakes, suspension and general mechanical work.
· Diagnosing common vehicle faults and completing the required repairs.
· Working independently through the daily job list to a high standard and in good time.
· Flagging additional work or issues before proceeding beyond the approved job sheet.
· Recording job information through Mechanic Desk on a phone or tablet.
· Supporting and checking in with apprentices, helping them improve without taking over.
· Helping teammates when required and occasionally supporting the Strathalbyn store.
What we are looking for
· A qualified Automotive Mechanic, or suitably qualified automotive electrician with strong mechanical capability.
· Good diagnostic ability and confidence working independently.
· Pride in workmanship, with a focus on getting the job right and reducing callbacks.
· Clear communication and good judgement about when to escalate.
· A humble, kind and team-focused approach.
· Someone who wants to contribute to a new workshop and help build its reputation in the local community.
Nice to have
· Auto electrical experience.
· Air conditioning refrigerant handling ticket.
· Experience mentoring apprentices.
· Experience with Mechanic Desk or similar workshop software.
Why consider it?
You will be joining a growing, family-owned business with an established reputation for quality and customer loyalty. The Woodside site gives you the opportunity to be part of a new workshop from the beginning, while still having the support and experience of the established team behind you.
If you are a qualified mechanic who values quality work, good people and being trusted to take ownership of your day, we would like to hear from you.
Please note only successful candidates will be contacted.
